Westmoreland Community Action helps individuals transition into the job market with Supported Engagement and Supported Work programs. The goal is to assist adults and remove barriers to employment. Employment ProgramsSupported Engagement | Supported Work Supported EngagementSupported Engagement helps adults resolve barriers,
transition to education programs and locate employment.
Supported Engagement is up to eighteen months in length with
intensive case management, transportation assistance for program
activities, supportive services and incentives. Supported
Engagement can also assist participants with funding for drivers
education and eyeglasses/hearing aids. Topics Include:
Eligibility for Supported Engagement Program:Eligible adults who are receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and/or have an 8th grade education or less and are enrolled in the Maximizing Participation Program (MPP) through the Westmoreland County Assistance Office. Supported Work is a 6 to 9 month program which involves individual case management, supportive services, and incentives. Participants are taught various employment skills such as:
Eligibility for Supported Work Program:Individuals must be currently receiving TANF and have an active case with the Westmoreland County Assistance Office.
